First things first: What's a Mob?
A MOB is a group of people who communicate to a group using SMS.
Each time someone in the MOB publishes an SMS, every member of the MOB receives that message. The person sending the SMS (the publisher) gets charged for just 1 SMS - irrespective of the number of people in the MOB. Everyone receives the SMS free.
MOBS thus makes it incredibly easy and cheap to keep in touch with friends, family, colleagues, and even like-minded strangers using SMS as the medium. You have 140 characters exclusively for your use. There is also no limit to the number of MOBS you can create or the number of SMS you can send.
How to start a MOB - To start a MOB, sms ACCEPT to 575758 to indicate that you have read our terms of services.
- Then sms CREATE <mobname> to 575758. Example CREATE GR8MOB to 575758. Once that is done, you should invite users to join your MOB.
- To join, they should sms START <mobname> to 575758. Example START GR8MOB to 575758. That’s it.
- Now anyone of you can publish and the others will receive. To publish, sms PUB <mobname> <msg> to 575758. Example PUB GR8MOB That was a fantastic movie! To 575758.
MOBS for BUSINESS USE
You can also use MOBS for your business needs, free of cost. However, we also have special MOBS exclusively for business use. Here, you'll get 160-characters of space for each message instead of 140 characters. Plus your messages can be branded with your business name, and they will be completely ad-free.
